Cancer Awareness and Mega Medical Camp
Cancer Awareness and Mega Medical was organized at the local DAV Senior Secondary School by Surendra Jakhar Trust in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi. In this camp which started at 8 am, about 1500 patients got themselves examined by various specialists. Various types of tests were also done free of cost for all the patients and medicines were also distributed to them.
Camp in-charge Sandeep Jakhar told that in this camp, Delhi’s cancer specialist Sumit Goyal, Dr. Mudit Aggarwal, Dr. Munish Gairola, Dr. Kundan Singh, Dr. Manish Madhare, Dr. Suanshu Dhingra Madhare etc. provided services. All the experts were presented mementoes by Surendra Jakhar Trust and expressed their gratitude. Camp in-charge Sandeep Jakhar expressed his gratitude to DAV Managing Committee, Chairman Dev Mitra Ahuja, Principal Smita Sharma, school staff, nursing staff of Meera College and all the volunteers for making the camp successful.
He said that this was the biggest camp ever in the history of Abohar. He has appealed to the patients getting tested in the camp that if any patient is suffering from a serious illness and wants to continue his treatment, then they should coordinate with the Trust so that he can be helped in his treatment. Patients from Abohar and surrounding villages and cities also came to this camp to get tested.
During this time, some cancer patients thanked Jakhar for organizing a free camp in Abohar and said that they had gone to Delhi for treatment about 2 to 3 times, but due to the doctors being busy, they had to return disappointed. On this occasion, Gurbachan Singh Saran, Mayor Vimal Thathai, Jaiveer Jakhar, City Congress President Mohanlal Thathai, Youth Congress President Atinderpal Singh, Councilor Lucky Comrade etc. were present.
